Samuel L. Jackson’s voice is coming to Alexa

Amazon Echo owners will soon be able to swap out Alexa’s voice for Samuel L. Jackson’s. By asking an Echo device to “introduce me to Samuel L Jackson,”  you will enable his voice with an introductory price of $0.99. After an unspecified period of time, it will rise to $4.99. This update will be available later this year.

This new personality for your Echo device will have many, but not all features.
“Just ask and Sam will give you the weather, play your favorite music, tell jokes, and more,” Amazon wrote on its website. “Samuel L Jackson can help you set a timer, serenade you with a song, tell you a funny joke, and more…Get to know him a little better by asking about his interests and career.” “Although he can do a lot, Sam won’t be able to help with shopping, lists, reminders or skills,” the listing cautions. Instead, the Hollywood legend is “here to add some fun to your Alexa experience.”

Amazon knows that in order to add authenticity to Jackson voice feature, it should offer users the option to enable or disable profanity.

Amazon said it plans add other celebrity voices to the Echo platform next year.
